Red Pill

Reached by Ally Condie (Matched Series, 3)

Who is the pilot? What is going on? Why?

These are questions I asked throughout every word I read. I’d like to think it is all a metaphor to how the world and society is, but I’m not smart enough to think too deep into it.

So I won’t bore you with the details of what I think the book symbolizes. Let's talk about what we just read. Where did the author go wrong? Well how is it that Xander was barely mentioned in the sequel and yet he has his own POV. I simply thought it was interesting at first because it was important to the plot, but as I read more, I realized that he, along with Ky and Indie have an important role to the story. It makes Cassia who is the main character of the story, seem as if her role in the story is insignificant. Seriously what was the point in including her perspective if she isn’t really doing anything. Also, Ky and Cassia relationship which was the main plot in the first and second book is no longer important as to Cassia’s relationship to Xander, and Ky’s relationship with Indie. For me, it was not a question of who would end up with who, but a question of was it necessary to include these new relationships in the plot for drama effect and suspense.

This was my least favorite book, even as the author tied up the series beautifully. I did not enjoy how different it was to the previous books. It ruined the innocence of the first book.

The red pill is the center of the final book. Not going to lie, at first I thought the red pill was death. It's worse.

Warning: People are not so different.
